The combination of speed and high quality graphics give a very positive user experience. Our test lab reports a strong preference by customers for the new software and for the use of very large monitors. The new graphics allows the use of any large monitor or flat panel television screen. The test lab is using Samsung 32 inch television screens with 1080x1920 resolution. The photos can be displayed either 4, 6, or 8 images at a time. The customers can see small details in their photos, such as facial expressions in large group photos. To receive the full benefit of the new software and its features, we recommend using a modern computer with multi-core processors and a high quality graphic card. The software can take advantage of all the cores the processor and graphic card offer. The use of Windows 7 is highly recommended. Our test lab uses HDMI cables from the computer to the television monitors. Many new computers offer HDMI outlets. The graphics are fast and beautiful. The beauty and clarity of the software will be appreciated by both you and your customers. The two most powerful motivators for customers are price, and the shopping experience. It is much more profitable to provide a positive shopping experience than to sell your product too cheaply. xKiosk5 offers the perfect balance between simplicity and features. Most customers can use the program with no instruction. It has an impressive intuitive interface and at the same time the new software offers the features most labs want.xKiosk5 is not an update. It is a completely new program. Created with the newest programming tools, it contains the knowledge base gleaned from years of experience and feedback from customers all over the world. Some very unique ideas have been incorporated, which sets xKiosk5 apart from other kiosk software. If there were a need to define the program with a single word - that word would be "Speed". If two words were allowed in the description, they would be "Speed and ___?" Why ___?. Because there is no single word in the English language that can describe the beauty of the images displayed nor is there a single word that can describe the beautiful and sophisticated interface. The interface is even more intuitive than previous versions. Rarely will you need to provide instruction to your customers. Now for a little Geek talk. Modern computers use multi-core processors and even graphic cards are multi-cored. With xKiosk5 running on Windows 7, it is possible to take advantage of the processing power of all of these cores. But you don't to have purchase new computers with Windows 7 installed to use xKiosk5, it works with previous versions of Windows all the way back to Windows 2000. The user experience with these older computers and operating systems provided very satisfactory user experiences in our test lab. If you use Windows 2000 your customers can now rotate their photos from the main screen. If you use a more recent version of Windows, Auto Rotation based on the cameras gyroscope is enabled. The newer versions of Windows have progressively faster execution times. Smart Scan is a system where nearly all of the processing takes place in the background, giving the customer the feeling of instant computing. The more processing power the computer has, the faster Smart Scan works. The main benefit of the speed of the program and operating system is customers now bring in media cards with thousands of photos spanning several years. With slower kiosk or at home, the customers grow weary of having to go thru such a large number of images. With xKiosk 5 it is very easy to sort through a large number of images. One of the neatest features is the result of a lab owners suggestion to have xKiosk print an Ad and insert it into every order. Using any photo editing software, you can create attractive advertising pieces and xKiosk5 will insert the Ad into every order placed on the kiosk. If all of your printing is routed through xKiosk, all of your customers will have the Ad placed in their order. Many households have cameras which have different aspect ratios. They will use their media cards in any and all of their cameras. This creates a nightmare for the lab, when some of their images will produce 4x6 inch (102mm x 152mm) prints and some of their images create 4x5.333 inch (102mm x 115mm). To complicate things even more they will use cropping programs to crop prints to random sizes. A new feature included in our software is Smart Ratio. This new feature will sort photos by their ratio and place them in folders for printing. Smart Ratio also handles incorrectly cropped photos by putting them on a canvas of the selected size so there is no spill over.
